Jewish Communal Fund hosted four Giving Circle Rock Stars for a conversation entitled: “Give Better. Give Together: A Conversation About Leveraging Your Giving Using Giving Circles.”

Giving Circles are a popular trend in the Jewish philanthropic world — and for good reason. When families, colleagues, or friends come together to pool their resources to form a giving circle, they end up benefiting from a very positive experience that empowers them to be thoughtful and reflective about their values and the impact they hope to achieve.

Jewish Communal Fund hosted four Giving Circle Rockstars for a conversation entitled: “Give Better. Give Together: A Conversation About Leveraging Your Giving Using Giving Circles.” Speakers included:

  • Nancy Astor Fox, Co-Founder, Acharai Fund
  • Debbie Cosgrove, Grants Chair, Jewish Women Foundation of NY
  • Cliff Greenberg, Founding Member, Solelim Fund (UJA-Fed NY)
  • David Steinhardt, Co-Founder & Chair, The Natan Fund

The conversation was moderated by Felicia Herman, Executive Director of The Natan Fund & Amplifier.

If you are interested in exploring how a Giving Circle can help deepen your experience with giving and Jewish life, here are a few suggested next steps

1. Join a giving circle. Visit AmplifierGiving.org to find a giving circle in your area.

2. Start your own giving circle. If you can’t find an existing giving circle that is the right fit, you can always start your own giving circle. Jewish Communal Fund wants to help, and if there are community members interested in starting a giving circle together we can help you think through that as well.

3. Learn More.  If you’re interested in learning more about giving circles and collective giving, a great resource to download is Giving Circles QuickStart, a brief introduction to giving circles. Visit http://www.amplifiergiving.org/resources/ to learn more!

Jewish Communal Fund manages many group giving circle funds and enables groups to establish donor advised funds for various purposes. We have established group giving funds for families, next generation donors, synagogues, and country clubs, among others. These funds provide a way for donors to express their generosity as a community.
