Below are examples of the language that several of our donors used to invite family and friends to contribute to a Bar or Bat Mitzvah Fund:

Sample 1:

Simon has pledged to donate a portion of the monetary gifts he receives to his philanthropic fund. He would be honored to have you join him in helping those in need. Tax-deductible contributions may be sent to:

Jewish Communal Fund
[Name of Fund]
575 Madison Avenue, Suite 703
New York, NY 10022

(Please make checks payable to the Jewish Communal Fund and reference [Name of Fund].)

Sample 2:

Thank you for helping to make the world a better place.

In lieu of a gift, Samantha would be honored if you would make a contribution to the [Name of Fund], which has been established in her honor at the Jewish Communal Fund.

A tax-deductible check payable to the Jewish Communal Fund can be mailed to Samantha or sent directly to the Jewish Communal Fund at 575 Madison Avenue, Suite 703, New York, NY 10022, indicating that it is a contribution to the [Name of Fund]. Proceeds will be allocated to a variety of charitable causes in the United States and Israel.

Sample 3:

In lieu of a gift, I would be honored if you would make a contribution to a new charitable fund called [Name of Fund]. The Fund will give money to help people in Israel and here in my neighborhood in New York City. I have described the organizations on the back of this card. I plan on volunteering my time with some of these, both in New York and in Israel.

Tax-deductible contributions may be sent either to my home or to:

Jewish Communal Fund

[Name of Fund]

575 Madison Avenue, Suite 703

New York, NY 10022

Please make checks payable to the Jewish Communal Fund and reference [Name of Fund].
